SMS Notifications Opt-In Process
Important: StepParentAdoption360 only sends SMS text messages to users who have explicitly provided consent.
All SMS messages are transactional and related to your adoption case - we never send marketing or promotional content.
By opting in, you agree to receive text messages (SMS) from StepParentAdoption360.com.
How Users Opt-In to SMS Text Message Notifications
StepParentAdoption360 provides two ways for users to opt-in to SMS text message notifications:
Option 1: During Account Registration
Step 1: Visit Registration Page
Step 2: Provide Explicit SMS Consent
- Review the SMS opt-in checkbox that states: "I agree to receive text messages (SMS) from StepParentAdoption360"
- Read the full consent disclosure which includes:
- Specific message types you'll receive (payment confirmations, document notifications, court date reminders, case updates)
- Message frequency information ("Message frequency varies")
- Rate disclosure ("Message and data rates may apply")
- Opt-out instructions ("Reply STOP to opt-out at any time")
- Check the box to provide explicit consent
- Complete account creation
Step 3: Confirmation
- Your SMS opt-in preference is saved with your account
- You can manage this preference at any time in Account Settings
Option 2: Via Account Settings (After Registration)
Step 1: Access Account Settings
Step 2: Add/Update Phone Number
- Scroll to the "Phone Number" section
- Enter or update your mobile phone number in the format: (555) 123-4567
- Click "Update" to save your phone number
Step 3: Enable SMS Notifications with Consent
- Scroll to the "Notification Preferences" section
- Locate "SMS Text Message Notifications"
- Read the SMS consent disclosure that appears, which states:
- "By enabling SMS notifications, you agree to receive text messages (SMS) from StepParentAdoption360.com about your adoption case"
- Specific message categories listed
- Message frequency information
- Rate disclosure
- Opt-out instructions
- Toggle the SMS notifications switch to "ON"
Step 4: Confirmation
- You will see a success message confirming SMS notifications are enabled
- Your consent and opt-in date are recorded in our system
- You will begin receiving SMS notifications for your case activities
What SMS Notifications Will You Receive?
Once opted in, you will receive transactional SMS notifications for:
- Payment Confirmations: When your payment is successfully processed
- Document Availability: When your adoption documents are ready to download
- Court Date Reminders: Reminders 1 day before scheduled court dates or appointments
- Case Status Updates: When your case status changes (e.g., submitted, under review, completed)
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your case activity. Typical users receive:
- 1-3 messages per month during active case processing
- No more than 1 message per day
- No marketing or promotional messages
How to Opt-Out of SMS Text Messages
You can opt-out of SMS text message notifications at any time. We provide three convenient methods:
Method 1: Reply STOP to Any Message
- Reply STOP to any SMS text message you receive from StepParentAdoption360
- You will be immediately unsubscribed from all SMS notifications
- You will receive a confirmation text message acknowledging your opt-out
- Your phone number remains in your account but will not receive further SMS messages
Method 2: Account Settings Toggle
- Log in to your account at stepparentadoption360.com/login
- Navigate to Settings
- Scroll to "Notification Preferences"
- Toggle "SMS Text Message Notifications" to OFF
- Your preference is saved automatically
Method 3: Contact Support
- Email us at support@stepparentadoption360.com
- Include your account email and phone number
- Request to be removed from SMS notifications
- We will process your request within 1 business day

- STOP - Unsubscribe from all SMS messages
- HELP - Receive information about SMS notifications and support contact

For Twilio Toll-Free Verification:
StepParentAdoption360 implements explicit SMS opt-in consent in full compliance with A2P 10DLC and Twilio messaging requirements:
- Explicit Consent Language: Users must actively check a box stating "I agree to receive text messages (SMS) from StepParentAdoption360"
- Clear SMS Mention: "text messages (SMS)" is explicitly stated in all consent language
- Separate from Terms: SMS consent is presented independently, not buried in Terms of Service or Privacy Policy
- Message Types Disclosed: Specific categories clearly listed (payment confirmations, document notifications, court reminders, case updates)
- Frequency & Rates: "Message frequency varies" and "Message and data rates may apply" disclosed at point of consent
- Opt-Out Instructions: "Reply STOP to opt-out at any time" provided with every consent disclosure
- Consent Recording: Opt-in date and consent status are recorded in our database for each user

Your phone number is securely stored and used only for sending case-related SMS text message notifications. We:
- Never share your phone number with third parties for marketing or other purposes
- Never use your number for promotional or marketing text messages
- Only send transactional messages related to your active adoption case
- Comply with all US telecommunications regulations including TCPA, CTIA guidelines, and carrier requirements
- Protect your data according to our Privacy Policy
- Store consent records including opt-in date and method for compliance purposes
Message & Data Rates
Standard message and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier plan. SMS text messages from StepParentAdoption360
are sent via Twilio toll-free number and do not incur additional charges beyond your carrier's standard SMS rates.
